Zuni Housing Authority Needs Assessment and Inventory Mobile Application
Zuni Housing Authority | Pueblo of Zuni, NM
Reservation Census Uncovers Opportunities for Housing Aid
Using a new mobile survey application, Atkin Olshin Schade worked with the Zuni Housing Authority to complete an inventory and assessment of approximately 1,500 homes on the Zuni Reservation. The smart phone app which AOS Architects developed enabled the Housing Authority to understand where homes are in poor condition and require repair, where there is overcrowding, and where new housing needed. Trained to input customized survey information on tablets, tribal members visited homes throughout the reservation to document exterior conditions, interior conditions and resident information. The system can be expanded to collaborate with other tribal departments to understand the complex relations between housing, health, language retention and other factors influencing the resiliency of the Zuni people.
