Shawn Evans, AIA to participate in the West Creative Placemaking Leadership Summit

Shawn is moderating a session on Thursday, February 7 titled, “A Critical Approach to Historic Preservation and Creative Placemaking in Northern New Mexico." This session will look at our innovative preservation projects at Ohkay Owingeh and the Palace of the Governors, exploring their relevance to community preservation efforts throughout the region.  Speaking with Shawn will be Tomasita Duran, Executive Director of the Ohkay Owinigeh Housing Authority; Andrew Wulf, Executive Director of the New Mexico History Museum; and Alicia Romero, Curator of Spanish Colonial, Mexican, and Chicano/a History at the New Mexico History Museum.

On Friday, February 8, Shawn is participating in a session titled, " The Myth of Santa Fe: The Next 100 Years." Organized by Rachel Preston Prinz of Archinia and Architecture for Everybody, the session also includes Professor Chris Wilson of UNM (author of The Myth of Santa Fe), author and journalist Alicia Inez Guzman, and Mayor Alan Webber of Santa Fe.  This session will explore the history and future of creative placemaking in Santa Fe.
