Siler Yard Housing Project Gains Traction
Santa Fe TREND Magazine, the region's leading publication on art and design, recently featured a sixteen page article on our project at Siler Yards that highlights our efforts to knit the new live-work development into the quality and character of the existing Siler Road neighborhood. The article includes more than a dozen photographs by Kate Russell of this industrial area and its diverse community of makers. Look for the upcoming publication of Kate's work, one of the projects funded through an "Our Town" grant from the NEA received by Creative Santa Fe. From the moment our design team (AOS Architects, Trey Jordan Architecture, daSilva Architecture, Onion Flats, and Surroundings Studio) began thinking about this project, we have been committed to the design of a community project that questions typical design and development patterns in the City. The article and Kate's beautiful photographs are a testament to the spirit of making that is alive and well in contemporary Santa Fe.
A recent summary of the community engagement process and the resulting designs is available on the Siler Yard project site.
