New Housing Continues Campus Traditions

Chartered in 1874, the Loomis Chaffee School is a coed boarding school located on a rural 300-acre campus in Windsor, Connecticut. The original school buildings include several Georgian Revival brick structures symmetrically arranged around a traditional campus green. Today’s campus includes 12 residence halls, as well as administrative and classroom buildings, theater and athletic facilities and residences for 36 faculty families.
We are working with the School community on several projects to accommodate increased enrollment, establish a master plan framework for improving an existing campus quadrangle, and enhance the strong traditional campus aesthetic. Cutler Hall opened in August of 2016. The new 50-bed residence hall also includes four faculty apartments and a generous Commons Room. The building orientation and design help define an existing campus entry to the north and completes a residential quad to the south.
