Enlarged Dining Facility Extends Campus Character
Located in Newtown Square, PA, The Episcopal Academy, a K-12 independent school, has a student enrollment of 1,200 and provides exceptional academic and recreational facilities on its 123-acre campus. A growing enrollment in recent years has required strategic, comprehensive and creative renovations and additions throughout the campus.
AOS designed a 100-seat expansion for Episcopal's Tierney Dining Hall to accommodate their current needs and plans for future programs. The additions greatly improve the flow of students through the space, and the reconfiguration of the servery and kitchen support the School's focus on providing students with a variety of fresh and healthy meal options. The Dining Hall additions bring abundant natural light deep into the dining spaces. The main addition can be divided from the remainder of the space to serve as a private dining room. A terraced patio provides an inviting entryway and a partially-shaded outdoor patio.
