Announcing the Promotions of Lisa Dustin, AIA and Paul Avazier, AIA

Atkin Olshin Schade Architects is pleased to announce the promotions of Lisa Dustin, AIA to Principal and Paul Avazier, AIA, LEED AP BD+C to Associate Principal. The promotions recognize the contributions each has made to AOS’ growth as a national, multi-disciplinary firm.

Lisa Dustin, AIA, joined the firm in 1992 and has 27 years’ experience in a wide variety of project types, with particular focus on projects for cultural, religious and educational institutions. She promotes a collaborative design approach and has an expertise in complex projects with a large number of consultants and constituent groups. Recent projects include a gymnasium building renovation at Princeton University, a LEED Gold/Passive House renovation of a historic residence hall at Williams College, and a new student center for a boarding school in Connecticut. She is also involved with Philadelphia community organizations, including the Spruce Hill Zoning Committee. She is a member of the Germantown Friends School Parent Association and a past member of the Penn Alexander Parent Association. Lisa holds a Masters in Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania. She was named Associate in 2003 and was promoted to Associate Principal in 2015.

Paul Avazier, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, has been a Project Manager for many of our prestigious education, museum, and religious institution clients including Friends Select School, Santiago Christian School, Episcopal Academy, Drexel University, Lehigh University, and Lafayette College. Paul was instrumental in the design and management of the Robert and Penny Fox Historic Costume Collection Gallery at Drexel University, and is currently managing the SouthSide Commons, a 428-bed residence hall at Lehigh University, and the Penn State Berks Campus Beaver Community Center expansion project. Paul currently serves as President-Elect of AIA Philadelphia and previously served on the Board of Directors as a Vice-President and Director. He is also chair of the Forum on Architecture and Design Committee and very involved in mentoring emerging professionals. Paul holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Drexel University, joined the firm in 2007, and was named Associate in 2015.
