New Faces this Summer at AOS

This summer saw some new faces around the AOS offices. Dillon Horwitz and Julia Lu joined us as Interns, while we also welcome Drew McMillian, Project Architect, and Austin Huber, Project Designer, to the AOS team.

Dillon has been supporting staff in the Philadelphia office. Dillon received his B.A. in Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania, and is entering his final year in the Master of Architecture program at the Princeton University School of Architecture. During the summer he assisted on survey and schematic design work for exterior renovations to Worth Hall, Bond Memorial Hall, and the Lodges at Swarthmore College, and for Renovations to 110, 114, and 116 Prospect Avenue at Princeton University.

Julia spent her summer with the team in Santa Fe. Julia is an interdisciplinary designer pursuing a Master's degree from the Interactive Telecommunications Program at NYU. She is a native New Yorker with a B.Arch from The City College of New York and has extensive experience at architecture firms throughout New York. She has been supporting the team on construction drawings for Modern Elder Academy in Galisteo, NM.

Drew, a Registered Architect and LEED Accredited Professional, joined our team in Santa Fe. Drew is interested in the connections between design, historic preservation, and sustainability. He believes that good design is rooted in deep engagement with a place’s history and climate. Before joining AOS, Drew worked at a range of design practices in Texas, Arizona, and Kentucky. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture with Honors from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Science in Design - Historic Preservation from the University of Pennsylvania.

Austin has joined the Philadelphia office as a Project Designer and has been supporting work on the renovations to Gutman Library at Thomas Jefferson University as well as the Renovations to 110, 114, and 116 Prospect Avenue at Princeton University. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Growth and Structure of Cities from Haverford College and studied at Columbia University's Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation. Austin has previously worked in affordable housing planning and interior design at firms in Philadelphia and New Jersey.
