New Wellness Center Opens to Students at Archbishop Carroll High School

AOS is pleased to share an update on the Archbishop Carroll High School project. Our AOS project team was on-site in Radnor to celebrate the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Connelly Wellness Center. Faculty, staff, representatives from the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, and the project team gathered to officially open the space to students and the school community.
AOS collaborated with the school and the Archdiocese to transform the former library into a comprehensive Wellness Center. This new center is dedicated to supporting the academic, mental, and spiritual well-being of the whole student. The design includes a welcoming student lounge and gathering area, a guidance suite, small collaborative workspaces, conference rooms, a spiritual gathering space, and an IT support area.
The design for this space takes full advantage of the high ceiling by exposing the roof structure and allowing natural light to flood in from the clerestory windows. The centerpiece of the space is the "hearth," which features seating that accommodates both relaxed gatherings and formal work sessions. Additional furniture clusters form student study areas, encouraging community building. Meeting pods, banquettes, and two shared conference rooms provide flexible spaces for collaboration and connections across the Center's different programs.
