Paul Robeson Charter School breaks ground on New Building

Members of the AOS team were present for the ceremonial groundbreaking celebration of a new facility for Paul Robeson Charter School (PRCS) located on the border of Ewing Township, NJ, and Trenton, NJ. Mayor Reed Gusciora, of Trenton, and Mayor Bert Steinmann, of Ewing, joined PRCS administration, staff, and students to kick off the construction phase of the project on Wednesday.

Paul Robeson Charter School is a lottery-based, open-enrollment charter school that provides students with an education that challenges, engages, and prepares them to pursue their dreams and lead a life of active civic engagement.

The new 55,000 school building will accommodate 750 kindergarten through 8th grade students and include 38 academic classrooms, dedicated science labs and elective rooms, administrative and academic support spaces, a shared cafeteria-gymnasium, and welcoming and flexible student spaces. Site amenities feature age-appropriate play spaces and a nature-based education space that preserves a large 100+ year old plane tree.

Joining the AOS team were other members of the design team, including Kelly Maiello Architects, Associate Architect; Ground Reconsidered, Landscape Architect; and Caroll Engineering, Civil Engineer.
