Santa Fe Team Rides to Donate Food

On November 16th, our Santa Fe office participated in the annual Cranksgiving Food Drive Bike Ride. Clad in chains, our team – the “Chain Yankers” – biked to grocery stores across Santa Fe to collect food items as part of a scavenger hunt. The team consisted of Garron Yepa, J.D. Scott, Ke Vaughn Harding, Gus Kamp, Miriam Diddy, and former AOS employee Joseph Kunkel. Sponsored by AOS, the Chain Yankers collected 127 pounds of food that was donated to The Food Depot, a local food bank.
The mission of Cranksgiving is to bring the cycling community together to give back to the cities we ride in. Begun by bike messengers in New York two decades ago, there are now nearly 100 independently organized events in the country. Last year, more than 60 riders of all ages participating in the Santa Fe Cranksgiving collected and donated over 1,700 pounds of food, providing thousands of needy families with healthy food in time for Thanksgiving.
