Stephanie Valentine Promoted to Associate, Named Director of Preservation
Atkin Olshin Schade Architects is pleased to announce the promotion of Stephanie Valentine to Associate and Director of Preservation. This promotion recognizes Stephanie’s leadership and her significant contributions to the firm’s preservation practice, as well as her ongoing commitment to the stewardship of historic buildings and places.
Stephanie’s work is focused on preservation and restoration, with specialized expertise in historic masonry and exterior envelope repair. She has led and contributed to numerous preservation projects at AOS, including a conditions assessment for the Masonic Temple & Library, as well as renovations and restoration work at Overbrook Presbyterian Church, and the phased restoration of the Academy of Music. Her experience also includes work at St. George’s Church, exterior envelope evaluation at Cedar Grove House in Fairmount Park, and the design for reuse of historic residences at Princeton University into new faculty housing.
In addition to her preservation work, Stephanie has contributed to a range of new construction and planning efforts, including a dining hall and athletic center feasibility study at St. Paul’s School, a new classroom building for Jupiter Christian School, and a master plan and conditions assessment for St. Mark’s Church. Across these projects, she brings a comprehensive understanding of building performance, material conservation, and the integration of contemporary needs within historic contexts.
Stephanie holds a Bachelor of Architecture and a Certificate of Historic Preservation from the University of Cincinnati. She has continued to advance her expertise through specialized training, including the RESTORE Masonry Course at Columbia University, lime restoration courses at the Scottish Lime Centre in Scotland, and participation as the U.S. representative in an international Cultural Built Heritage program in Rome.
